The Roman Amphitheatre

The Roman Amphitheatre

A few kilometres from the Otto Ducati d'Oro country relais you can visit the magnificent Arena, the Roman Amphitheatre of Verona, in the heart of the ancient town of Juliet.

Located right in the historical centre of Verona the charming Piazza Brà, is probably one of the most famous squares in Italy.

An icon of the town in the Veneto region, this listed building is one of the most impressive buildings of Roman architecture dedicated to entertainment and leisure that today enjoys the reputation of being the "best-preserved ancient amphitheatre" thanks to constant restoration work since the 17th century, as well as hosting jousts and shows, like bull hunt.

Even today, in summer, the Amphitheatre is a powerful source of feelings with its celebrated opera festival and numerous concerts of famous singers and bands and ballet performances with internationally renowned dancers.
In winter, especially at Christmas time, a giant start is installed in the building to complete its magnificence. The star seems to come out of the Amphitheatre to gently settle in Piazza Brà where you can, to everyone's delight, take a few pictures of this magic moment.

From the Roman Amphitheatre, by taking the famous Via Mazzini, full of shops and boutiques, you can easily visit, by passing under the picturesque arch at the entrance, Juliet's house featuring the famous balcony and a bronze statue of Juliet.
Not far from the house, there is Piazza delle Erbe, Verona's old town with the imposing Lamberti Tower from the top of which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the town.
